The Pre-Bid is Mandatory. The location for the Pre-Bid is Odum Village, 211 Branson Street, Chapel Hill, NC. Bidding for Single Prime Contractor.
This project is the partial renovation of the Community Center Building at Odum Village. On the first floor, the existing spaces will be reconfigured to incorporate a conference room in the old laundry room and bring the existing bathrooms up to meet the ADA. This project addresses the issues with the main first floor entry accessibility from the parking lot into the building and includes a new floor opening and pit to provide an enclosed ADA lift from the first floor to the second floor.
On the second floor, the existing spaces will be modified for reuse as a Student Veteran’s Center. The project will be replacing the existing HVAC and electrical systems. The HVAC is a steam system currently. The steam line has a leak and the system will be taken offline. The new HVAC will be gas. The electrical system has Federal Pacific equipment and will be replaced due to issues with their performance. Also, a new fire alarm system will be installed. No hazardous material abatement is included in this scope.
The building will be unoccupied during construction. Bids received will be single prime. All proposals shall be lump sum.
Complete plans, specifications, and contract documents will be open for inspection at UNC Facilities Planning and Design, Room 248.
