Project Description
The UNC Institute of Marines Sciences in Morehead City.
The corrosive coastal environment decreases the service life of this equipment and increases the repairs and maintenance
needed to keep the equipment operational. These projects were identified in the 2018 R&R plan. Several high priority deficiencies at the UNC Institute of Marines Sciences in Morehead City are addressed with this project and will result in decreased system shut down periods caused by repairs and equipment failure. Below is the proposed scope of work for this project:
- Install Lightning Protection System at IMS Coker Hall, Coastal Processes, Fisheries Research Lab
- Repairs to Electrical Distribution System at IMS Fisheries Research Lab
- Replace Air Handling Unit 1, Ductwork, and Terminal Units at IMS Fisheries Research Lab
- Repair Air Handling Units 1 and 2, Replace Chilled Water Control Valve and Water Heater at IMS Coastal Process Building
