Nov. 8-15, 2017: GIS Scavenger Hunt
Nov 8, 2017 @ 8:00 am - Nov 15, 2017 @ 2:00 pm
Your Mission:
To make a crowd-sourced map of the Three Zeros features on our campus.
Find and post pictures of places on campus that illustrate the Three Zeros Environmental Initiative: zero waste to landfills, net zero greenhouse gases, net zero water use. You must find at least one example of each of the Three Zeros. You have one week. Complete your mission and you will be rewarded.
Your Tools:
Access the GIS Three Zeros map on your mobile device at http://arcg.is/2ycXcs2, and post one example of each of the Three Zeros to the map.
- Tap the map to get started. Make sure that location services are granted for your browser.
- Tap the “locate me” circle icon on the left or navigate to the desired location.
- Tap “OK” at the top right when the marker is in the correct location.
- Identify which of the Three Zeros you are illustrating, add a photo, your ONYEN and description and hit “Submit”.
Your Reward:
Mark one of each of the Three Zeros on the map and claim your prize 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Nov. 15, at the Sustainability Office table at America Recycles Day in the lobby of the Student Union. Those who complete the mission will also be entered to win one of three Student Stores gift cards, ($15, $25 or $50); winners will be drawn at 4 p.m., Nov. 15, at the Davis Library Research Hub.
