Spring 2025 Lighting Tour

Adequate lighting is an important component of campus safety and security, especially after dark. To review and assess lighting needs, the Energy Services Electric Distribution Systems (EDS) team conducts lighting tours of campus twice a year.
Held at night, the lighting tours allow EDS and tour participants to identify areas where lighting needs improvement, observe changes in tree and shrubbery growth that might impact lighting efficiency, and highlight the impact of previous lighting installations and improvements.
Join representatives from Energy Services, Facilities Services, UNC Police, student government and other campus partners for a Campus Lighting Tour on Tuesday, March 4 at 6:30 p.m. (rain date March 6 at 6:30 p.m.) The tour will begin on Stadium Drive outside Parker Residence Hall and will cover areas along Stadium Drive, South Road and Ridge Road.
