The Facilities Services Engineering Services, Construction Services and Management, and Facilities Planning and Design departments are being restructured and will transition from three departments into two. This reorganization will allow us to align related roles within primary reporting units while allowing for operational efficiencies. We will continue to maintain our current levels of service and support to the University campus in these areas.
Engineering and Construction
The Engineering Services and Construction Services and Management departments will be merged into one unit. Greg Driver, currently executive director of Engineering Services and University Engineer, will oversee this consolidated group of Facilities functions in his new position of executive director of Engineering and Construction. This department will provide the following services: Facilities Engineering, Energy Management, Construction Management and Construction Services.
Facilities Planning and Design
Engineering Information Services will be managed as a division of the Facilities Planning and Design department under the leadership of Executive Director and Assistant University Architect Evan Yassky. Facilities Planning and Design will now provide the following services: Project Planning and Management, Design Services, Interior Design and Space Planning, and Engineering Information Services.
The Facilities Services website will be updated to reflect this new departmental structure in the coming week. If you have any questions or concerns about these organizational changes, please contact Greg Driver at greg.driver@fac.unc.edu or Evan Yassky at evan.yassky@facilities.unc.edu.
