West Drive Paving Begins Monday, March 9

Paving will continue on West Drive through Wednesday, March 11. Traffic will remain one-way. Drivers should continue to access West Drive via Manning Drive and use the eastern lane (adjacent to the Cardinal Parking Deck) to access the Cardinal Parking Deck. Flaggers will be on site to direct traffic. Pedestrians should not walk on or cross West Drive during paving activities and should use the crosswalks at the Manning Drive and Mason Farm Road intersections as appropriate.

West Drive will open permanently as a two-way road beginning Thursday, March 12.

Paving operations will take place on West Drive beginning Monday, March 9. One-way traffic from Manning Drive to Mason Farm Road and access to the Cardinal Parking Deck will be maintained at all times. Paving will be completed in three phases:

Phase One

Drivers should access West Drive via Manning Drive and use the western lane (adjacent to the Lineberger Cancer Research Center and Marsico Hall). PD permit holders should enter the Cardinal Parking Deck using the two southernmost entrances.

Phase Two

Drivers should access West Drive via Manning Drive and continue to use the western lane. PD permit holders should enter the Cardinal Parking Deck using the two northernmost entrances.

Phase Three

Drivers should access West Drive via Manning Drive and use the eastern lane (adjacent to the Cardinal Parking Deck). PD permit holders should enter the Cardinal Parking Deck using the two northernmost entrances.

Flaggers will be on site to direct traffic. Pedestrians should not walk on or cross West Drive during paving activities and should use the crosswalks at the Manning Drive and Mason Farm Road intersections as appropriate.

West Drive will open permanently as a two-way road beginning Wednesday, March 11. Drivers and pedestrians should remain alert to changes in traffic patterns in this area.
