Following up on last fall’s announcement about the retirement of Anna Wu, Carly Perin has agreed to serve as interim associate vice chancellor for Facilities Services, effective April 3.

“I appreciate Carly’s willingness to serve in this capacity until new leadership is named,” said Vice Chancellor for Finance and Operations Nate Knuffman in a March 3 announcement to staff. “She is a strong partner and advocate for the Facilities Services organization, and I am confident in her ability to lead and support the department while we complete a thorough search for a new associate vice chancellor.”

In her current role as executive director of business strategy and shared services, Perin provides oversight of the Finance and Operations Service Center of Excellence (SCE) and provides key project management and strategic business support to the Vice Chancellor’s office.

Perin has spent more than two decades working at Carolina in the facilities and finance space, with 15 years in progressive leadership roles within Facilities Services. Among her most notable achievements, she led the business and administrative functions of the department as administrative services director. This included oversight of capital budgeting and accounting, customer billing, human resources, purchasing, information technology, warehouse and recycling operations, fleet services and mail services. She is a graduate of the APPA Institute and led the University sponsored NCAPPA Conference in 2015.
