Due to the water line break, some building may experience low water pressure which may impact restroom functionality. A number of portable toilets are stationed across campus for use by staff and students.

Construction of the UNC Hospitals Surgical Tower will begin Oct. 22. The new seven-story facility will offer modernized operating rooms, improved rooms for recovering patients, and more space for families and guests.

Students were urged to go home and employees were urged to take leave. Only mandatory employees—many of them in Facilities Services—were required to report to work. Some even stayed overnight. “Our people answered the call, I can’t say enough about them.”
