A Duke Energy contractor will be performing work in the Carolina North Forest beginning Monday, April 1 through Friday, April 5, but weather and other conditions may impact this timeline.

The contractor will be removing vegetation along the north-south Duke Energy corridor that runs from Seawell Elementary School to Bolin Creek. Work will include the complete clearing of trees and underbrush along the 30-foot-wide easement that runs under the power line.

Forest visitors should remain alert to clearing activity and the presence of heavy equipment in these areas.

For questions or concerns about utilizing the forest during this project, please contact forestmanager@fac.unc.edu.
