The third phase of the Porthole Alley construction project will begin Monday, Aug. 28, 2017, and is scheduled to be completed Oct. 16, 2017.
The tower crane that has been on-site at the Mary Ellen Jones renovation project will be demobilized and removed over the weekend of Aug. 18.

Odum Village is being fenced off in preparation for demolition scheduled to take place later this year. The demolition of 39 residential buildings is expected to begin fall 2017 and will be completed in phases through August 2018.
South Road will reopen to through traffic between UNC Student Stores and Raleigh Street Friday, Aug. 11, 2017. This portion of South Road has been closed since May 15 due to a utility improvements project.
Even with most students away on summer break, Carolina’s campus is still buzzing with activity as construction crews work on several projects across campus.
The Utility Improvement project to repair and replace pipes beneath Lenoir Drive has been completed. Lenoir Drive will remain closed for resurfacing and striping Aug. 2, 2017, through Aug. 10, 2017, and is expected to reopen to through traffic Aug. 11.
A roofing project at the McColl Building will require the closure of portions of the sidewalk along the plaza side of the building beginning July 31, 2017, through Aug. 19, 2017.
The Orange Water and Sewer Authority (OWASA) will close a segment of the northbound lane of Hillsborough Street for pavement work beginning Wednesday, June 21. The project is expected to be completed Friday, June 23, but weather and other conditions may impact this timeline.
