Due to the logistical transportation issues with Styrofoam recycling, UNC-Chapel Hill does not have a year-round, campus-wide recycling program for this material. Do not put Styrofoam in the blue recycling bins. It is best to contact vendors about alternative packaging options to reduce Styrofoam use.

Orange County Solid Waste lists several local, year-round options for both reuse and recycling of Styrofoam on their website.
